Haunted Church Tunnel/The Center for Molecular Medicine and Immunology
so yesterday i went on another on one of my little adventures.
Me and my grandfather traveled all the way up to Belleville, NJ to go take pictures of the Belleville Reformed Church and this abandoned Hospital called the Center for Molecular Medicine and Immunology. First we parked right on main street and walked up to the Belleville Reformed Church which is said to have haunted church tunnels underneath. it was founded in 1697 and was rebuilt in 1725 and again in 1807. It was a lookout for soldiers during the American Revolution. The current building was built in 1853. So we got out of the car and started taking pictures of the building. it was a beautiful building. Then my grandpa decided he wanted to go inside so i agreed and we tried opening every door but none of them would budge. it was a shame too because i really wanted to see the inside :( then we went around and found the cemetery were over 60 revolutionary soldiers are buried but just like the doors to the church the gate to the cemetery was locked and there was no way to get over the fence. so we go in the car and left to the next spot.
We only had to drive about 3 minuets and then out in this huge field was the Center for Molecular medicine and Immunology. It's now abandoned and falling apart but thats the beauty in abandoned buildings. So we going to walk around the block and up the driveway to the hospital but my grandpa couldn't walk that far. so we decided the drive around the back of it and walk to the front and take pictures but when we got to the back there was a cop. my heart sank but my grandpa wanted to get out and talk to the cop to see if we could just take pictures of the outside not the inside but when he talked to the women cop she said she really couldn't do that because she would defiantly get fired if she did which is totally understandable. She said if we wanted we could walk to the sidewalk in the front and take pictures there. So we drove around to the front and took pictures there.
After we were hungry and my grandpa wanted McDonalds and the nearest one was in East Orange. When we walked into the McDonalds everyone was starring at us because we the only white people there. The place was a dump too it was so gross. But we ate and got out ok. Now onto the next adventure!

Turtle Back Rock/ Crystal Lake/ Rosedale Cemetery
So i went on yet another adventure to take some pictures. This time i went all the way to North Jersey, West Orange to be exact. My Grandpa went with me (don't make fun) because he enjoys on going on adventures with me and i enjoy the company.
First we headed over to South Mountain Reservation where the Turtle Back Rock is, that was the main reason why we went there. I also wanted to see the scenic lookout where you can see New York City and the Hemlock Falls. First we went to see the Scenic Lookout. When we got out it was so thick and hazy outside you couldn't see the city! so we got back in the car and i took a look at the map and noticed that there was no parking near hemlock falls, so you would have to hike a while to get to it and because i had my grandpa with me who can do limited walking i decided to skip that. I also wanted to see the Orange reservoir but there was some party going on by it we also decided to skip that, but the main reason why we were going there was for the Turtle Back Rock and we were not going to skip that. We turned onto Walker Ave. found the entrance and parked the car in the lot. We found the path and we got a little lost but we eventually found the Turtle Back Rock, it was pretty cool. The rock is a huge boulder with some type of carvings that make the rock look like the back of a turtle shell. No one knows if it was natural or man made. After about a half hour of walking we finally made it back to the car and headed up to Crystal Lake.
Crystal Lake is located on the Orange Mountain right off Eagle Rock Ave, across from Eagle Rock Reservation and right behind the Eagle Rock Bowling Ally. Everything was eagle rock which i found kind of funny. Back in the day before the bowling ally was there, it used to be a amusement park and eventually it was abandoned and torn down. The only thing left of the amusement park is the lake, crystal lake. There are also said to be cannibals there at night. Nothing special really went on there while we visited, we just got out took a couple pictures and headed of to the Rosedale Cemetery.
The Rosedale Cemetery and Crematory is this HUGE cemetery located in west orange right off Orange ave of Washington St.,Depending on which entrance you come into. We went into the Orange Ave. entrance and parked the car. I walked around a bit while my grandpa stayed in the car to call my grandma. What a beautiful cemetery! It's all laid out nice and very well maintained. I found there were a lot of gravestones of Celtic crosses which makes me think there are a lot of Irish buried there. There were some Pretty Mausoleums there and some cool statues. I got a really awesome picture of three angels it looks like for hope, faith, and charity. After walking around there for about an hour we decided to head back home.
In between Turtle Back and and Crystal lake we got pizza not to far some South Mountain reservation and it was horrible. It was like eating souse and cheese crackers the crust was thin, i just wanted to share that lol.

Georgian Court University/ The JL tree/ Moon Motel
So today i went on another adventure to take some pictures. First my boyfriend and i headed on over to Georgian Court University. The College is all fenced in so we though we wouldn't be able to get in because after all it is a private college. But we parked on a side street and walked in through this nice entrance gate thing. All i have to say is what a beautiful school it is! I wish i could go to school there, but then again i'm not rich haha. We walked around, took some pictures of statues, trees, nice things. I was waiting for security to ask us what we were doing there because it's summer and no one should really be walking around a college like that but we didn't get bothered at all. It was getting really hot outside so we tried to stay in the shade as much as possible. After taking a few pictures i decided that was enough so we got in the car and headed to the JL tree.
Now for those of you who don't know about the JL tree, here is some information:
As of right now where the JL tree stands is The Ocean County Garage where they store like snow salt and trucks and stuff but back in the 70's there used to be a park. In the 70's a boy named Jimmy Lynch was in the park late at night when rumor has it that 4 boys from school who stabbed him to death. When he died his girlfriend carved the letters JL into a tree. Since then the branches of the tree have formed into a J and a L. The L looks a little off but the J is defiantly there. So after visiting Georgian Court we headed on over there. When we got there i spotted it right away. We got out, took some pictures, and headed off quickly because we were trespassing and didn't want to get caught.
The next and final stop was the Moon Motel. there is not story to this one, it just has a weird name and is located in the weird NJ books as a minor roadside attraction. We parked behind the sonic and walked over to the sign. the sign looked ancient. It was rusted and the lights were falling off. Not only was the sign a wreck but so was the Motel! The pool was empty and the gate getting into there was broken, and there were weeds around it everywhere. Defiantly not a nice place to stay. There were reviews about the Motel online and alot of people said it was trashy and was a popular place for drug deals.
After that we headed up to freehold to go to the mall to get my sister a present for her 18th birthday :)

Bayside
so once again i've been here before but i'm going to blog about it now.
In the way south of New jersey by the Delaware bay sits this little place called bayside. there is nothing there, absolutely nothing except for some people sometimes fishing and stuff. The place used to be called the Caviar capital of the world but in the middle of the 20th century the fish eggs where caviar comes from declined and they named the spot bayside.
So one day i made my way down there. There are a bunch of roads you have to go down to get to the place and you pass by a lot of houses that look like they belong in the 1700's. Once you get down to bayside you can go on either of the two roads that brings you out to the bay.
Nothing really special about this place its in the middle of nowhere and there isn't anything to see really.
