So once again i went a while ago but i'm going to blog about it now.
So Menz Restaurant is a little family owned Restaurant located in Rio Grande on the way the Cape May. They have really delisious food! I went past it with my ex boyfriend one day while i was filiming in cape may but it looked closed so we didn't go inside. Then one day after looking at cats in ocean city me, my sister, and her boyfriend decided to take a trip down there. So we got inside and noticed all the weird decor. We got a seat, ordered our food and when we ate it, it was like heaven the food was amazing! Although the food was amazing the bill was not, the food is expensive but to me it was totally worth it.
I went there again with my family and my grandparents. They agreed the food was really good and well worth the money.

The Mysterious Green Pond
like i said before, i've been here way before but i'm blogging about it now.
So one day i found out there was a location right by my house as Birch Grove park in Northfield so i decided to go. The location was a mysterious green pond. See now most ponds or rivers around here are brown because of all the iron but just like the blue hole in winslow (except for its green not blue) it not brown. So one day i got my camera and got in the car and took a ride over. it took me a while to find it even though all i had to do was walk straight back from this huge path, but it was a long walk. So i found it, took a couple pictures and headed off. Another location that was pretty uneventful

The Bull God
so once again, i've been here way before but i'm going to blog about it now.
So on the same trip i went to on to see Purgatory Road i also went to go see this thing called the Bull God, basically it's this big statue of a bull holding a snake that was used as a movie prop in the 30's i think. Now it is just sitting in someones backyard which the house is also vacant. So me and my grandfather took the ride on over to Lumberton where the statue is located and we drove all the way up the road until we found it. We pulled over and got out and trudged through the weeds until we got to the statue. We took a couple pictures and then got back in the car and either went to the next location or went home.
Yea the location was pretty uneventful.

The Essex County Hospital Center
I went to this place a way long time ago but i'm going to blog about it now.
Anyway, i was sitting at home and i saw something on the website nj.com about the essex county hospital center aka overbrook being torn down soon so i said to myself that i had to go see it before anything happens. So me and my awesome grandpa got in the car and headed for the 2 hour drive up to cedar grove. I was really excited but nervous to go to the hospital. Excited because c'mon its an abandoned asylum and nervous because i didn't want to get caught. going north on the road we first got out on the left side where all the small buildings were we started to look around a bit and not even 5 minuets into our adventure we heard a loud bang and crash from inside one of the buildings. I assumed it was an animal. We then went over on the right side to where the wards were. We walked around on the outside for a really long time when my grandpa decided that we should go inside. So we went inside the kitchen first and looked around. they still had cans of food sitting there. i thought that was kind of gross. Anyway, then we went over to where the rooms were. Once i got inside i got the creepy feeling that someone was watching me. We poked around a little and decided to head back out because all there really was to see where more wards and they all looked the same. We didn't go to the morgue because we couldn't find it haha. so we only spent about 2 hours there and the good thing was we didn't get caught, no police no security guards, nothing it was awesome. This place has been by far my favorite place i've been to.

The Blue Hole
So today i went to take a trip to the infamous Blue Hole in Winslow, NJ.
For those of you who don't know what they blue hole is let me tell you.
The blue hole is a 100 ft almost round pond that is said to be bottomless. legend has it that if you swim in the blue hole a whirlpool will come up and suck you under. It is also said that it is a popular hang out for the Jersey Devil. In the 1930's it use to be a popular swim spot but soon sometime in the 1940's a storm came and washed away the bridge getting to the Blue hole. The water is perfectly clear unlike the other ponds located around it which are brown in color because of the iron in the ground, known to the locals as Cedar Water. the blue hole is also said to be freeing cold, even on the hottest days like today. Sometimes almost as low as 40 degrees.
So i packed up my car and headed down route 322 aka black horse pike, stopped at a wawa, and finally made it Piney Hollow rd. Now the directions say to take the first dirt road you come to which should be on the left so i did that. It said to pull over at the first little outing so i parked and walked around and noticed i was in the middle of an open area the blue hole is in the dense woods so i got back in my car and drove a little bit farther up. I pulled over at the next little opening and walked the path next to that and it lead me to a dead end. I walked back and decided to just explore the rest on foot. so i headed up the dirt road a little further. I then saw another path and walked it until it lead me to another dead end. Then i thought let me just go back to the car and maybe go home and do a little bit more research on where it is but when i got to the dirt road i decided to walk up the road some more just to see what was there. I finally got to another little opening with 2 paths. i took the first one, dead end again. i then took the second path which had blue marks on the trees so i thought to myself this had to be it. i walked for about 5 minuets and indeed it was the path! after searching for about an hour and being drenched in sweat i finally found it i then took a couple of pictures and took some of the broken bridge and the nearby greater egg harbor river. The water was blue and unlike it says in the weird NJ books there was plenty of wildlife in the water, turtles and such. it then took me about a half and hour to walk back to my car. When i got there i noticed i was out for almost two hours. But then again sometimes i'd do anything just to get the perfect picture

Tombstone of the Lambert Castle
So like before, i went a while ago but i'm going to blog about it now.
So we drove up to Paterson after we were done exploring the Essex County Hospital Center (i'll blog about that in another post) Anyway, we drove up to the castle and i was pretty impressed, it looked pretty nice :) so we got out and started looking around for the Tombstone. We looked for a good 5 minuets and decided to go inside. we looked around the house/castle whatever you want to call it, for a while and on our way out we asked the people that worked there about the hidden tombstone they said that everyone asks about it but they have never seen it themselves. This lead me to think it wasn't there anymore. We went back outside and decided to look around one more time. Just when i was about to give up i looked behind some type of electrical box and i found it! I wanted to go back in and tell the people that worked there where it was but i end up not doing that. Then we took a picture and headed off back on home.

Purgatory road/Purgatory house
So i went here a while ago, before i had this blog so i'm going to blog about it now.
So it's located in Southampton, NJ. We drove for about an hour and me and my grandpa finally arrived (my grandpa is no ordinary person he loves going to this kind of stuff with me and he doesn't slow me down he can keep up) anyway, i knew there was the abandoned house somewhere in the woods but at first i didn't see it. We drove up and down the road a couple of times (the people who live on the road must have been pretty annoyed) until my grandpa suddenly said "what's that in the woods?" and behold we found the purgatory house. so we parked in front of the path leading towards it. My grandpa stayed by the car and i went to go see the legendary Purgatory house. I didn't go inside because i never go inside an abandoned house alone who knows what could happen. so i took some picture of the exterior and went on back to the car. about a couple months later me and one of my friends Nicole decided to go on a little adventure so i suggested the Purgatory house since i really wanted to see what was inside. When i got home that night with my grandpa i looked up more things about the Purgatory house. everyone said it was haunted so i wanted to see if that was true also. So me and Nicole went into the house and saw it was falling apart. The floor looked like it was going to collapse any second but that didnt stop me. We explored the first level and then slowly went up the stairs to the second level. after exploring for a while and taking some pictures we decided to do a little daytime ghost hunting. We really didn't get anything until something happened that still creeps me out till this day. I heard really close to my ear the sound of someone exhaling. i have it on video and everything. it wasn't me or nicole and there was no wind and the road is pretty far from the house so it was weird. Then after we ate out at friendly's :)

Mt. Misery
so today i went to take a trip to the road called mt. misery. I have a few things to say about this road. one, there are no signs indicating that the road is indeed the road you are looking for. so, with that, i flew right past the road. When i turned around and got back to the road i was debating either to go right of left. To the right was a dirt road and to the left was a paved road so i decided to go down the paved road. Mt. Misery road is a HUGE road that stretches for a long while through the middle of the pine barrens. So i rode through the road and i came to a camp, some type of christian camp. I didn't stop because there were some cars and i figured the camp was going on considering its the middle of summer so i kept on going. The road soon took me through Lebonon State Forest. I got all the way to the end where there were railroad tracks and alot of big dump trucks on the road intersecting with Mt. Misery. So i turned around and went all the way back to the other side of the road. This one wasn't paved so i was praying that my tire wouldn't become flat because i think i don't have a spare. anyway, i didn't pass anything interesting. I then got to a very well paved road that was still Mt. Misery. i drove all the way to the end and behold! a road sign that says Mt. Misery. I really wanted to take a picture of me under the sign for my album but there were so many cars wizzing by that it was impossible, i was by myself and i did have a tripod with me. it would have been easy if there wasn't so many cars so i grabbed my GPS, and put in the address for my boyfriends house cause he lives about 15 mins from Mt. Misery (which is located in Browns Mills btw) which is where i am now. I'm going to try to go there tomorrow with my boyfriend, after he gets back from school but i think he wont want to come. he isn't the adventurous type. So Mt. Misery photography will have to be saved for another day. :(

Atlantic City Cemetery Community
So this trip was nothing really big, neither was the site i was visiting. It was just in the books so i figured i go visit it. Its in the A.C. cemetery community located just minuets from my house. I went last week but never got around to blogging about it. Nothing really just a weird headstone for a grave. here is a picture
If you are familiar with the Weird NJ Books you would probably recognize this just a slight bit.

Holy, Holy Holy/ Man in the Iron Casket/ Face in the sidewalk
So after a long while since i went to a place for my documentary due to money problems but now that i have a new job i decided to get my documentary back on track. So i decided my next place would be to visit the holy, holy, holy alter, the man in the iron casket and the face in the sidewalk all located in historic mount holly. My boyfriend, steven, lives about 15 minuets away in a little town called wrightstown so i went up yesterday (July 12) after work and stayed the night. Then this morning we both got up and headed over to Mount Holly. First we visited the Man in the Iron casket. Now if i did my research correctly, The man is named Hezekiah B. Smith who owned the Smithville Mansion located in Smithville not too far away from Mount Holly. He was in love with a women named Angus, but she was not his legal wife. The rest of his family lived somewhere else, not in NJ, so when he died, to be forever next to his lover, he commanded that he be buried with a concrete slab under him, have his cakset be made out of Iron and ontop, another concrete slab, so that there would be no way for anyone to move him.
Next we went to the Holy, Holy, Holy, alter on the mount off High street. we walked up to it, took some pictures. Legend has it that the alter houses the Jersey Devil and a women is chained up inside who woships the devil or something like that. I tried to find the Witches well too but i couldn't find it. I thought i found it near the water tower but im not 100% sure that was it or not.
Lastly we went to see the face in the sidewalk. Basically it was just a concrete face sticking out from the edge of the sidewalk. Nothing really to be said about it.
